We are thrilled to have this immensely popular Malbec on offer today for just £26.95!

With 4.4 stars from over 1200 Vivino reviews (25% of which are 5 stars), it is one of the most highly rated malbecs under £200!

It’s a wine that has everything going for it.

For starters it’s owned and made by legendary winemaker, Michel Rolland who consultants to hundreds of wineries worldwide and who made his name working with some of Bordeaux's greatest châteaux.

Secondly, the Val de Flores vineyard is a gem – only ten hectares so modest by Argentine standards – but situated next door to the legendary Clos de los Siete and planted with vines that are over fifty years old.

And last but not least, it’s malbec and who doesn’t love a great malbec!

Val de Flores is laden with the dense, ripe fruit that is great malbec’s calling card and the use of new oak gives the wine velvety plushness, great depth and hugely impressive length.

We've only managed to find a small amount of this fantastic wine and it won't be around for long, so don't hesitate to buy some!

About the wine

This gorgeous old-vine Malbec captures the drama, flavour and intensity of both country and grape!

The grapes were fermented in small concrete tanks and barrel before being placed in new French oak barrels for malolactic fermentation. The wine was then aged in the same barrels for 18 months.

The end result is a smooth, ripe black-fruited beauty that is powerful and at the same time generous, gentle and friendly with great concentration. Scents of black fruit such as prunes, cherries and berries mingle with herbs, roasted meat and liquorice. The palate has terrific depth of flavour with that lovely ripe fruit coated in silky smooth tannins with notes of leather and spice. A big malbec but one that is extremely well-balanced, the finish is long and full of flavour.

A superb malbec from a superb winemaker!

About the winery

Michel Rolland, one of the most famous and respected winemakers in the world today, needs little introduction. Having made wine in over twenty counties, consulted to hundreds of wineries and being a vineyard owner in Bordeaux and Argentina, his experience is unparalleled.

The story goes that Michel was consulting for the Trapiche winery in Argentina and one year some grapes didn’t arrive from a site he knew well. The grape grower had decided to retire and was selling up.

Knowing the quality and potential, Michel went to see him as soon as he heard the news and with minutes he had bought the property! Val de Flores is very close to the famous, Clos de los Siete vineyard.

Situated at the foot of the Andean mountain range, the view is breathtaking with row after row of vines, rose bushes and olive trees and the snow-topped mountain peaks providing a spectacular backdrop.

About the vineyard

Val de Flores is a unique ten hectare vineyard, planted with malbec vines that are over fifty years old. The soil is composed of alluvium and deep silt. As you might expect the site is meticulously tended.

"Excellent palate. Sophisticated nose. Great value for money. Nice finish...a 360 wine..Michel does not disappoint, all his endeavours in Argentina are superb..."  4.5/5 Stars

"Michel Rolland is in fact a great winemaker. In this wine that is wonderfully expressed. Purple red with violet reflections. Black currant, licorice, and the aroma of sweet rose petals, in addition black olives with a hint of Laurel. Very elegant opening with fine enamel, replaced by black fruit, some spices and a full body. Remains extremely smooth and silky despite its concentration, full of energy; towards the end a great potential showing up very long"  4.5/5 Stars

Other Offers

Thank you for trusting Vivino for your wine orders! In order to ensure that your wine is protected from the elements during transport, Vivino has developed a comprehensive program for temperature controlled shipping:

  • All shipments to Non-West Coast states (CA, OR, WA, ID, MT, WY, NV, AZ, CO, NM) will be sent via temperature controlled truck to the closest regional hub. These facilities, referred to as "gateways", are temperature controlled and located strategically throughout the country.
  • Once a shipment arrives at the gateway*, it will be transferred to UPS or Fedex for the final part of its journey

* Note that ice packs (if ordered) will be added to your package at this time.

All orders placed before 1pm EST on Wednesday will be shipped out on Friday of the same week. All orders placed after this time will be stored in a temperature controlled warehouse and shipped out the following Friday.

Delivery times, therefore, may take 8-14 days from order date, accounting for fulfillment, 4-5 days shipment to the regional hub, and 1-2 days for local delivery.

If you would like a more expeditious delivery option, please select 2-Day or Overnight Shipping.

Tracking information will not be available for your shipment until it reaches the regional hub, due to the fact that the shipment is sent via common (temperature controlled) carrier and there is no individual tracking number for the package.

You will however receive a confirmation email indicating that your shipment has left the West Coast warehouse and is en route to your closest regional hub. Your order will say "UPS Label Created", but this label will not be scanned until it reaches the regional hub.

Once the shipment reaches the regional hub, you will be able to track your package (likely 4-5 days after shipping date). At this point, the package is en route to your home/office.
