We are very excited to have this top-scoring Beaujolais on offer today for just £21.45 per bottle!

With the prices of red Burgundy reaching stratospheric levels, the wines of Beaujolais are coming into their own. When made with dedication and love they are beautifully fruit-driven wines with a serious savoury, mineral edge. Wines that drink perfectly out of the gate but that still improve with age.

Mee Godard is doubly unusual - not only is she a woman running a domain pretty much on her own, but she hails from South Korea. We leave you to imagine the impediments she must have overcome to be named as one of Decanter's "New faces of Beaujolais"!

The vines in the Corcelette vineyards (part of the Morgon area, one of Beaujolais' best) are sixty years old and impart lovely lovely ripe, sweet fruit and a wonderful fragrancy and minerality to the wines.

As roberparker.com says, this is a wine with a “gorgeous bouquet… very pure and enticing with vibrant red cherry and crushed strawberry fruit laced with blueberry.”

Given its quality and ageing potential, this represents extraordinary value for money and we agree with the critics who recommend so highly the Godard wines.

This is a domaine that is clearly on a stratospheric trajectory and now is the time to buy before the world catches on!

About the wine

Still a comparative newcomer to the area, Mee has been quick to establish herself as a producer of high-quality Beaujolais wines with considerable potential. With every vintage has come improvement and the quality of the 2015 vintage was surely a boost to her clear winemaking talents.

This is a gorgeous Morgon from Domaine Mee Godard. In the first instance there’s this terrifically aromatic, scented nose that is floral and mineral with sweet black cherry notes. The palate is finely-structured and focused. The tannins are supple and perfectly integrated into the fruit that has a bright, mineral edge. A very fine, elegant Beaujolais cru from a stunning vintage.

Partially destemmed, fermentation lasts between 15 and 18 days with only indigenous yeasts being used. The wine is aged in a range of previously-used barrels, demi-muids and foudres. Once the ageing is over, the final wine is blended.

About the winery

South Korean born oenologist, Mee Godard studied at Oregon State university and Montpellier before moving to Beaujolais in 2013.

Her property in the Morgon cru has five hectares of vineyards covering three of the area’s finest “climats”: Corcelette, Grand Cras and Côte de Py.

The winery is very much a one-woman show, with Mee taking on the vast majority of work in both the vineyard and cellar. As she says, “my philosophy is to produce complex wines that are both elegant and alive… passionate about [my] work and the pursuit of perfection every day, I demand the best of myself in the vineyard as in the winery.”

About the vineyard

Judiciously managed, the Corcelette vineyard is a site within the Morgon cru; widely considered to be one of the very finest in Beaujolais. The vines are 60 years old.

Here, the sandy, granitic soils help deliver highly perfumed, supple wines.

93 points - Neal Martin
The 2015 Morgon Corcelette has a gorgeous bouquet: very pure and enticing with vibrant red cherry and crushed strawberry fruit laced with blueberry. The palate is very well balanced with supple tannin, well judged acidity and the wood (a mixture of demi-muids, foudres and barrels) is seamlessly integrated. This is certainly worth a look for a well-crafted, modern-styled Beaujolais. Chapeau Mee Godard for creating one of the best Corcelettes of the vintage."

"Vivid ruby. A highly perfumed bouquet evokes fresh red berries, cherry liqueur, smoky minerals and candied flowers. Sappy, sharply focused raspberry, bitter cherry and lavender flavors show very good depth and pick up a hint of allspice with air. Fine-grained tannins give shape to an impressively long, mineral-accented finish that shows excellent clarity and floral lift."

17.5/20 points - Julia Harding
"Mid to deep crimson. More open than the Grand Cras, more fragrant but still the darker fruit dominates the nose, though it is sweet and inviting. Super-fine tannins but enough of them to be quite chewy now. Scented and fresh on the palate with a mineral-dry complexity on the finish. Very long."

"Low yields and old vines together with expertise and saprolytes soils makes this wine fantastic morgon. Red crimson colour, perfumed nose of ripe fruits. On the palate is round and velvety showing notes of flint and minerals together with dark fruits and integrated oak; structured wine with a persistent aftertaste"  4.5/5 Stars

Thank you for trusting Vivino for your wine orders! In order to ensure that your wine is protected from the elements during transport, Vivino has developed a comprehensive program for temperature controlled shipping:

  • All shipments to Non-West Coast states (CA, OR, WA, ID, MT, WY, NV, AZ, CO, NM) will be sent via temperature controlled truck to the closest regional hub. These facilities, referred to as "gateways", are temperature controlled and located strategically throughout the country.
  • Once a shipment arrives at the gateway*, it will be transferred to UPS or Fedex for the final part of its journey

* Note that ice packs (if ordered) will be added to your package at this time.

All orders placed before 1pm EST on Wednesday will be shipped out on Friday of the same week. All orders placed after this time will be stored in a temperature controlled warehouse and shipped out the following Friday.

Delivery times, therefore, may take 8-14 days from order date, accounting for fulfillment, 4-5 days shipment to the regional hub, and 1-2 days for local delivery.

If you would like a more expeditious delivery option, please select 2-Day or Overnight Shipping.

Tracking information will not be available for your shipment until it reaches the regional hub, due to the fact that the shipment is sent via common (temperature controlled) carrier and there is no individual tracking number for the package.

You will however receive a confirmation email indicating that your shipment has left the West Coast warehouse and is en route to your closest regional hub. Your order will say "UPS Label Created", but this label will not be scanned until it reaches the regional hub.

Once the shipment reaches the regional hub, you will be able to track your package (likely 4-5 days after shipping date). At this point, the package is en route to your home/office.
