This is a little gem!

Produced in small quantities by a boutique winery with just 10 hectares of vines, Casaloste gives the big names of Chianti a real run for their money!

Casaloste are known for producing absolutely classic Chianti but with the gorgeously brilliant 2015 vintage, they have taken a step further and produced a stunner of a wine that is amongst the best of the vintage.

Silky, vibrant and full of lush dark fruit grown in organic vineyards, this is a drinking experience of pure pleasure and at less than £20, great value for money as well.

"The 2015 is a winner" says famed critic Anotnio Galloni. We couldn't agree more!

About the wine

This is a gorgeous Chianti from a small estate that offers great value for money!

A lovely ruby colour in the glass, aromas of wild berries and black cherry join notes of mocha, leather, smoke and toast along with herbal hints that give the wine an added complexity. 2015 was a fantastic vintage and the gloriously ripe fruit gives the wine superb richness and supple, deep flavours of ripe cherry, raspberry and savoury spice. The touch of merlot gives the wine an extra dimension and adds some soft elegance. Bright and pure, this is fantastic Chianti from a top vintage!

The grapes for this Chianti were grown using organic practices and were hand-picked. The wine was fermented in small sized stainless steel vats using selected yeasts and controlled temperature before being aged in Allier oak casks and barriques for 12 months

About the winery

Casaloste is a winery in the hills of Panzano in Chianti, one of the most prestigious locations in the Chianti Classico region, halfway between Florence and Siena.

The farm extends for 18 hectares of which 10 hectares of D.O.C.G vineyard and 2 hectares of  D.O.P. olive trees. The owners Giovanni Battista d'Orsi, agronomist and oenologist, and his wife Emilia follow the activities personally.

The aim of Giovanni d'Orsi is to produce sublime Chianti and his life is organized around this objective. Fattoria Casaloste is his only property and where he lives with his family. Wine-making is his only profession. For these reasons, the winery assures dependable, long-term quality and stability: Giovanni will always be a wine-maker!

Fattoria Casaloste employs exclusively organic methods of farming, as certified by its membership in the ICEA (Istituto per la Certificazione Etica ed Ambientale), an organic farming guild.

A beauty, this silky red is packed with dark cherry, leather, iron and earth aromas and flavors. Harmonious and long, with a well-integrated structure and a mineral-tinged aftertaste."

92 points - Antonio Galloni
"The 2015 Chianti Classico is a bold, juicy wine. Black cherry, lavender and expressive spice provide much of its exotic, alluring personality. Lush and racy, but with vibrant fruit and tons of Sangiovese structure, the 2015 is a winner."

Other Offers

Thank you for trusting Vivino for your wine orders! In order to ensure that your wine is protected from the elements during transport, Vivino has developed a comprehensive program for temperature controlled shipping:

  • All shipments to Non-West Coast states (CA, OR, WA, ID, MT, WY, NV, AZ, CO, NM) will be sent via temperature controlled truck to the closest regional hub. These facilities, referred to as "gateways", are temperature controlled and located strategically throughout the country.
  • Once a shipment arrives at the gateway*, it will be transferred to UPS or Fedex for the final part of its journey

* Note that ice packs (if ordered) will be added to your package at this time.

All orders placed before 1pm EST on Wednesday will be shipped out on Friday of the same week. All orders placed after this time will be stored in a temperature controlled warehouse and shipped out the following Friday.

Delivery times, therefore, may take 8-14 days from order date, accounting for fulfillment, 4-5 days shipment to the regional hub, and 1-2 days for local delivery.

If you would like a more expeditious delivery option, please select 2-Day or Overnight Shipping.

Tracking information will not be available for your shipment until it reaches the regional hub, due to the fact that the shipment is sent via common (temperature controlled) carrier and there is no individual tracking number for the package.

You will however receive a confirmation email indicating that your shipment has left the West Coast warehouse and is en route to your closest regional hub. Your order will say "UPS Label Created", but this label will not be scanned until it reaches the regional hub.

Once the shipment reaches the regional hub, you will be able to track your package (likely 4-5 days after shipping date). At this point, the package is en route to your home/office.

  • Your wine can be protected from environmental damage for the entirety of its journey
  • This service is provided to you at no additional cost
