LAST FEW BOTTLES!

Today, we are delighted to offer the exciting first vintage of Résonance Vineyard Oregon Pinot Noir from the historic Louis Jadot’s new venture in Oregon

With nearly 158 years of experience in making top Burgundy wines, Louis Jadot are specialists in Pinot Noir and their winemaker, the famous Jacques Lardière, has put his heart and soul into making Résonance Vineyard Pinot Noir a resounding success.

We think he's managed it! Tasted without seeing the label, we thought it was an top quality Premier Cru wine from Burgundy!  (At least twice the price!)

Superbly balanced, elegant and full of ripe fruit flavours with just a hint of spice on the finish, it is absolutely delicious and astoundingly good quality.

It is drinking perfectly now but has the potential to age for a further decade - if you can resist it..!

About the wine

The wine has a very nice ruby colour with at first a restrained bouquet that opens up after few minutes. Aromas of ripe fruits and spices are supported by nice and subtle oak notes. The mouth is tight, lively and at the same time mellow. On the palate the tannins are well integrated, with a nice structure, displaying a very interesting minerality typical of the Résonance Vineyard soil.

In August 2013 Louis Jadot purchased the Résonance Vineyard in Oregon, U.S.A., the first investment of its kind for them outside of Burgundy since its formation in 1859. Its inaugural vintage, produced in limited quantities was released for the first time in 2016.

Located in the Yamhill-Carlton District AVA, within Oregon’s Willamette Valley, this 13ha property has 8ha planted with Pinot Noir. The wine has been made under the watchful eye of Jacques Lardière, Louis Jadot’s winemaker and guardian of style and quality for over 40 years.

Hand-harvested grapes from this non-irrigated vineyard produce a dynamic wine with bright, mellow palate full of ripe fruit, spices and floral notes, with smooth, integrated tannins and good structure.

About the winery

Louis Jadot was founded in Beaune by Louis-Henry Jadot in 1859, and celebrates over 150 years of fine winemaking.

Over the last century and a half, the company has strived to establish and maintain the quality of its wines thorough the steady acquisition of the best vineyards in Burgundy. Today, Louis Jadot produces wines from over 150 appellations throughout the region and in 2013 expanded to Oregon with the purchase of Résonance Vineyard.

Yamhill-Carlton AVA is a community of small, artisan producers and for this first vintage, Jacques Lardière used a winery of their neighbour to vinify the wine. At the moment, Louis Jadot are in a process of building their own winery.

About the vineyard

Résonance Vineyard is situated in the Yamhill-Carlton AVA, which is located within Oregon's Willamette Valley, just west of Carlton at the foothills of the Coast Range.

It is a 13ha property, with 8 ha of vineyard planted with Pinot Noir. The vineyard sits on a convex portion of a low, west-east oriented ridge emerging out of the Coast Range, at an altitude of 80 to 150 meters above sea level.

Soils are primarily Willakenzie (old sedimentary deposits) and Yamhill (ancient submarine basaltic soil). Planted on their own rootstock, the Pinot Noir vineyards were first planted in 1981.

"The eagerly anticipated first release from Maison Louis Jadot's Oregon project does not disappoint. Long time Jadot winemaker Jacques Lardière has put all his heart and expertise into this wine, sourced from a much-loved vineyard recently acquired by the firm. Concentrated raspberry purée comes through in both aroma and flavor, with laser focus. It's a magical combination of finesse, silkiness and strident youth, with 20 years of aging potential. Drink now through 2035."

"Light and focused, showing distinctive subtlety. A layer of crinkly tannins underlies a pulsing core of mineral-accented cherry and red berry flavors, hinting at cinnamon as the finish lingers gently."

"...this 2013 from the widely respected Resonance Vineyard is strongly burgundian in structure"

"This is Maison Louis Jadot's first wine project outside of Burgundy, France, since 1859. The 2013 is their debut release from the Résonance Vineyard in the Yamhill-Carlton wine region, and does not disappoint. Vivid Ruby with a nose of spice accented red fruits. On the palate raspberry and cherry flavors, hints of cinnamon and earthy notes. Tannins are well structured on a long finish ending with some tangy mineral notes. Aging will benefit" 4.5/5 Stars

"Very special wine in it's first vintage owned by Jadot. Dark fruits pervade without the coying sweetness that most New World Pinot has. Very balanced with good acidity. This is a really cool wine with great pedigree"  4.5/5 Stars

"Red cherry, raspberry, fresh minerality, and structure. This hints at the smooth fruit and herb driven style of Yamhill but the rest screams of elegance with a huge complex finish"  4.5/5 Stars

TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED SHIPPING OVERVIEW

Thank you for trusting Vivino for your wine orders! In order to ensure that your wine is protected from the elements during transport, Vivino has developed a comprehensive program for temperature controlled shipping:

  • All shipments to Non-West Coast states (CA, OR, WA, ID, MT, WY, NV, AZ, CO, NM) will be sent via temperature controlled truck to the closest regional hub. These facilities, referred to as "gateways", are temperature controlled and located strategically throughout the country.
  • Once a shipment arrives at the gateway*, it will be transferred to UPS or Fedex for the final part of its journey

* Note that ice packs (if ordered) will be added to your package at this time.

SHIPPING SCHEDULES FOR TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED SHIPMENTS

All orders placed before 1pm EST on Wednesday will be shipped out on Friday of the same week. All orders placed after this time will be stored in a temperature controlled warehouse and shipped out the following Friday.

Delivery times, therefore, may take 8-14 days from order date, accounting for fulfillment, 4-5 days shipment to the regional hub, and 1-2 days for local delivery.

If you would like a more expeditious delivery option, please select 2-Day or Overnight Shipping.

TRACKING INFORMATION

Tracking information will not be available for your shipment until it reaches the regional hub, due to the fact that the shipment is sent via common (temperature controlled) carrier and there is no individual tracking number for the package.

You will however receive a confirmation email indicating that your shipment has left the West Coast warehouse and is en route to your closest regional hub. Your order will say "UPS Label Created", but this label will not be scanned until it reaches the regional hub.

Once the shipment reaches the regional hub, you will be able to track your package (likely 4-5 days after shipping date). At this point, the package is en route to your home/office.

KEY ADVANTAGES OF TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED SHIPPING

  • Your wine can be protected from environmental damage for the entirety of its journey
  • This service is provided to you at no additional cost
