Gosset, founded in 1584, is the oldest wine house in Champagne, so it's safe to assume they know what they are doing!

Fiercely independent, they make Champagne in a rich, creamy style and their wines are counted amongst the very best of the Grande Marque houses.

This Rosé, made from a combination of premier cru and grand cru vineyards is no exception.

Scoring an impressive 4.1-star average from Vivino reviewers, this is a gorgeous Champagne; soft and succulent, it is filled with red summer berry fruit and as you might expect from Gosse, is rich, creamy and generous.

This is an irresistible Rosé Champagne and every inch as good as the more well-known names - and in many cases better!

About the wine

In the glass, the Gosset Grand Rosé is supremely attractive - a strong, bright salmon pink with flashes of a darker, almost red tone. The nose is full of fresh, ripe summer fruits - red cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry - blending with notes of fresh brioche and a touch of orange peel as the wine gets more air. Opulent, ripe, rich, creamy, silky - adjectives abound for this gorgeous, elegant palate with its superb intensity and concentration of more red, ripe fruit. This rather wonderful Champagne finishes with a touch of gingerbread spice and exemplary length that leaves a lasting impression.

A superb wine and amonst the very best Rosé being made

The Gosset Grand Rosé NV is a blend of chardonnay (58%) and pinot noir (42%). This cuvée is, to all intents and purposes, a vintage wine, as only a very small amount of reserve wine has been added.

Winemaking at Champagne Gosset is as simple as possible to protect the individual characteristics of each vineyard and cru. Each cru is vinified separately, with no filtration and aged on fine lees. Malolactic fermentation is naturally avoided to ensure the wines retain their natural acidity and fruit characters. Gosset wines are also marked by their extended ageing and the average length of time spent in the cellar across the range is 5 years.

About the winery

Gosset is the oldest wine house in Champagne.

Founded in Aÿ in 1584 by Pierre Gosset, the principle winemaking activity at that time was red wine. It wasn’t until the 18th century that Gosset joined their neighbours and began making sparkling wine. It was at this time that the Gosset house adopted the unique antique flask-shaped bottle that is still used today.

Since 1993 Gosset has been owned by the Renaud Cointreau family who have  always sought to protect the quality and character of their wines.

About the vineyard

In Champagne, vineyards are graded on a scale between 80 and 100%. Premier cru vineyards are rated between 90 and 99, whilst you need the full 100 to be a grand cru site.

Champagne Gosset works with some 200 growers in and around the town of Epernay who between them have around 120 hectares. The average score across the total hectarage is an impressive 95%. In many cases the relationship between the grower at the Champagne house has existed for generations which is enormously important to a top-quality producer such as Gosset.

This Champagne is a blend of 12 Grand Cru and Premier Cru villages including Avize, Chouilly, Cramant Ay, Ambonnay and Bouzy with 7% red wine from Bouzy & Ambonnay.

Dressed in a unique color that I would describe as a salmon pink with orange (or onion) reflections, Gosset's NV Grand Rosé Brut  opens with a highly delicate and matured, vinous bouquet of red fruits. Pure, light, highly elegant, round and intense on the fruity-mineral palate, this is a picture-book Champagne of great finesse and delicacy. The persistent finish is lovely, pure and extremely stimulating in its salty/mineral freshness; whereas the fruit is articulated in an aristocratic reticence and perfectly integrated into the noble, overall expression. No malolactic fermentation. This is the kind of sample that I don't want to give away, but drink for myself. Gorgeous!"

"Attractive pale pink hue. This has a delicate set of aromas of wild cherry and some lighter pastry notes, really fresh. The palate has bright, crisp red fruit flavor and a thread of grapefruit too. Really fine, elegant, crisp, dry and focused."

92 points - Josh Raynolds
"Light, orange-tinged pink. Lively spice- and mineral-accented red berry and citrus fruits on the nose, with a hint of cherry pit adding depth. Vibrant and precise on the palate, offering tangy, refreshingly bitter-edged blood orange and strawberry flavors. Clean, focused and stony on the dry, penetrating, persistent finish, which leaves a suave honeysuckle note behind."

"Such a light and fine balanced rose champers. Bubbles light and small like a good vintage. For a NV champers it's one of the best roses in this price range"  4.5/5 Stars

"Very enjoyable Champagne. Among the rose NV it has to be among the top 10. Very tiny small bubbles that give lovely flavors off summer fields and fruit. This weekend's best Champagne."  4.5/5 Stars

"This is beautiful!! Salmon roe pink with one of the finest mousses I’ve encountered. Great balance between fruitiness and structure! Nose and flavour are dominated by fresh strawberries and other red fruit. Some juniper and savoury notes."  4.5/5 Stars

"This was like drinking liquid gold! Burnt sugar and marzipan on the nose. Caramelised orange, sunshine and chamomile flower to taste. Feels regal yet tropical, like I should be sipping it on the Orient Express whilst flying through Mediterranean countryside.4.5/5 Stars

Thank you for trusting Vivino for your wine orders! In order to ensure that your wine is protected from the elements during transport, Vivino has developed a comprehensive program for temperature controlled shipping:

  • All shipments to Non-West Coast states (CA, OR, WA, ID, MT, WY, NV, AZ, CO, NM) will be sent via temperature controlled truck to the closest regional hub. These facilities, referred to as "gateways", are temperature controlled and located strategically throughout the country.
  • Once a shipment arrives at the gateway*, it will be transferred to UPS or Fedex for the final part of its journey

* Note that ice packs (if ordered) will be added to your package at this time.

All orders placed before 1pm EST on Wednesday will be shipped out on Friday of the same week. All orders placed after this time will be stored in a temperature controlled warehouse and shipped out the following Friday.

Delivery times, therefore, may take 8-14 days from order date, accounting for fulfillment, 4-5 days shipment to the regional hub, and 1-2 days for local delivery.

If you would like a more expeditious delivery option, please select 2-Day or Overnight Shipping.

Tracking information will not be available for your shipment until it reaches the regional hub, due to the fact that the shipment is sent via common (temperature controlled) carrier and there is no individual tracking number for the package.

You will however receive a confirmation email indicating that your shipment has left the West Coast warehouse and is en route to your closest regional hub. Your order will say "UPS Label Created", but this label will not be scanned until it reaches the regional hub.

Once the shipment reaches the regional hub, you will be able to track your package (likely 4-5 days after shipping date). At this point, the package is en route to your home/office.
