From the very southernmost tip of Napa Valley, cooled by ocean breezes and fogs from the San Pablo Bay, comes the Jamieson Ranch Double Lariat!

This is classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon in the style that made the region so famous - stunningly concentrated ripe fruit, luxurious, rich and smooth.

But don't mistake this for being overdone or unbalanced, those cooling winds and fogs bring a lively freshness to the wine that makes it deeply joyful to drink.

With great scores from the critics and a fantastic 4.2 stars from over 1000 Vivino reviewers, you'd normally expect a Napa Cabernet this good to easily reach into three figures.

So the price of just £34.75 a bottle makes this a deal not to be missed!

About the wine

One sniff of this deep, dark wine and we are in California! An extraordinary, aromatic nose of blackcurrant, sweet vanilla and spice along with a touch of eucalyptus gives this away as classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. And if there were any doubts, they are answered by the rich, concentrated palate. Glossy, soft and full-bodied with ripe, fine tannin, it is loaded with layers of cassis and black cherry fruit. A zesty acidity keeps it fresh and balanced as the fruit carries on long into the exceptional finish. A wine for pure enjoyment - luxurious and hedonistic!

The Double Lariat Cabernet Sauvignon is barrel fermented and aged in French oak for 16 months before being bottled and released.

About the winery

Jamieson Ranch’s 300 acres of gently rolling hillsides and terraced vineyards were formerly part of General Mariano Vallejo’s Rancho Suscol in the mid-1800s. Today, the ranching tradition continues with cattle grazing the hillsides and their own miniature horses roaming the property.

The unique architecture of the winery is reminiscent of a majestic western mountain lodge, replete with soaring ceilings, seating around a cozy fireplace, an observation gallery over-looking the barrel room and production area, and a spectacular wrap around veranda that affords sweeping views of the Napa Valley and San Pablo Bay.

About the vineyards

The California winery is the Napa Valley’s southernmost in terms of location and covers nearly 300 acres of gently rolling hills and terraced vineyards that benefit from the cooling fog and breezes coming off nearby San Pablo Bay.

About the winemaker

With a career spanning three decades and four continents, Linda Trotta was named Winemaker for Jamieson Ranch Vineyards in 2017 and is responsible for the Double Lariat and Reata brands.

In addition to her leadership roles in wine, Linda has worked harvests around the world including Italy, South Africa and Chile, and counts wine luminaries such as Zelma Long and Phil Freese among her personal mentors.  She has also managed estate vineyards and worked with long-time grower partners throughout key wine regions in appellations within California and Washington.

A cool and elegant style influenced by spearmint and cedarwood on the nose. This is dense and powerful with sweet balanced fruit, integrated oak and a distinctive plum scent."

Deep ruby color; smooth, lush and ripe with sweet oak and juicy plum and blackberry; rich and balanced."

91 Points - Wine Enthusiast
"Tingling acidity keeps this wine fresh. It is an impressive Cab, blended with small amounts of Merlot and Petit Verdot, that's aged in French oak. Lively, the oak is soft and approachable, making room for the bright notions of dark cherry, cassis and vanilla that linger on the generous finish."

91 Points - Robert Parker
"The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Double Lariat displays plenty of sweet black cherry and cassis fruit, velvety, light tannins, medium to full body and an up-front, consumer-friendly style that begs for consumption over the next 7-10 years."

" Decanted for over an hour, this rich, dark, beautiful wine exhibited notes of dark fruits, cola, new leather, plastics, legumes, and more. So beautifully complex, yet still so young, this wine is teeming with potential, and while it drinks and well now, I look forward to revisiting it in the future. Cheers!4.5/5 Stars

"A tasty, complex Napa Cab that blooms as it sits. Aromas of dark cherry cola, blackberries, vanilla, licorice and chocolate. Similar fruits on the palate with leather and black pepper flavors as well. Full bodied, velvety and dry with a lengthy finish. Cheers friends!"  4.5/5 Stars

"An absolutely decadent Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, that envelops you like a dark purple velvet curtain...Of course there are the dense fruit characters of black currant and black cherry with a spicebox edge. Plenty of oak brings richness and a toasty depth of character that balances the surprising fruit juiciness of this Cab. The tannins are pronounced yet completely velvety, giving the wine weight while maintaining elegance. An incredible value!!" 4.5/5 Stars

"The minute you pop the cork you will pick up the Cocoa and the Oak. Once it opens up you will pick up Cherry, leather and chocolate with a soft long finish. I highly recommend this and I will be buying more. Outstanding bargain for the price.4.5/5 Stars

Thank you for trusting Vivino for your wine orders! In order to ensure that your wine is protected from the elements during transport, Vivino has developed a comprehensive program for temperature controlled shipping:

  • All shipments to Non-West Coast states (CA, OR, WA, ID, MT, WY, NV, AZ, CO, NM) will be sent via temperature controlled truck to the closest regional hub. These facilities, referred to as "gateways", are temperature controlled and located strategically throughout the country.
  • Once a shipment arrives at the gateway*, it will be transferred to UPS or Fedex for the final part of its journey

* Note that ice packs (if ordered) will be added to your package at this time.

All orders placed before 1pm EST on Wednesday will be shipped out on Friday of the same week. All orders placed after this time will be stored in a temperature controlled warehouse and shipped out the following Friday.

Delivery times, therefore, may take 8-14 days from order date, accounting for fulfillment, 4-5 days shipment to the regional hub, and 1-2 days for local delivery.

If you would like a more expeditious delivery option, please select 2-Day or Overnight Shipping.

Tracking information will not be available for your shipment until it reaches the regional hub, due to the fact that the shipment is sent via common (temperature controlled) carrier and there is no individual tracking number for the package.

You will however receive a confirmation email indicating that your shipment has left the West Coast warehouse and is en route to your closest regional hub. Your order will say "UPS Label Created", but this label will not be scanned until it reaches the regional hub.

Once the shipment reaches the regional hub, you will be able to track your package (likely 4-5 days after shipping date). At this point, the package is en route to your home/office.

  • Your wine can be protected from environmental damage for the entirety of its journey
