A wine that exceeds all expectations!

Exclusive to Vivino in the UK, this big, beautiful red is rich in flavour and super-smooth with great balance, concentration and length.

With no less than 96/99 points from Luca Maroni and rated his number 1 Corvina out of over 130 tasted, this excellent wine is also brilliant value at just £10.95.

A perfect BBQ wine, it's the appassimento method (as with Amarone) that gives the wine its wonderful smoothness and intensity.

In combination with delicious, dark, ripe fruit, it's an irresistible wine that makes a mockery of its low price!

About the wine

This excellent Italian is full-bodied, rich and velvety . An intensely fascinating nose full of ripe fruit (cherries, berries, blackberries, plums), toast, jam, mocha, cedar and light spiciness is supported by velvety, dense, super-ripe forest fruits on the palate. With a firm and lively structure and just enough freshness, it's little wonder it's been described as a 'mini-Amarone'.

A cracking red to pair with grilled meat, it's perfect for this time of year when the BBQ comes out and the steaks are sizzling away...

This top wine is made by the Tinazzi family. The Corvina grapes (one of the grape varieties used for Amarone) receive special treatment - Tinazzi apply the appassimento method to them and some of the grapes are dried, so they lose a lot of their weight in moisture. This gives the wine a huge amount of flavour - just as with expensive Amarone.

About the winery

Tenuta Tinazzi is a real family business, where every generation is actively involved from an early age. The current owner, Gian Andrea Tinazzi, helped his father to run the company from the age of 18.

Due to its decisive, enterprising nature, the company developed quickly. Production grew steadily, and new markets were continually tapped within and outside Europe. Innovation and originality are central to Tenuta Tinazzi.

Meanwhile, Gian Andrea, together with his son Giorgio and daughter Francesca, also make beautiful quirky wines in other Italian wine regions such as in Bardolino and the South Italian Salento and Carosino - to the delight of wine lovers in more than 30 countries around the world!

About the vineyard

The vineyards for this beautiful Corvina are found in the Valpolicella Classico region, in the hilly hinterland of Lake Garda.

The stony soil is rich in lime and iron, an ideal base for the typical Valpolicella grape varieties. The slopes where the corvina grows are largely oriented towards the south, allowing the grapes to fully benefit from the sun .

In 2015, the Tinazzis opened a new winery in the heart of Valpolicella, closer to the vineyards where they make their red wines. In order to get the best out of the grapes, the latest technologies are used both in the vineyards and in the cellars.

* On the bottle image shown on this page, there is still the old name of the wine used until vintage 2015: "Tinazzi Corvina di Verona Selezione di Famiglia". From this vintage 2016 the wine is called: "Tinazzi Corvina Collezione di Famiglia"

Thank you for trusting Vivino for your wine orders! In order to ensure that your wine is protected from the elements during transport, Vivino has developed a comprehensive program for temperature controlled shipping:

  • All shipments to Non-West Coast states (CA, OR, WA, ID, MT, WY, NV, AZ, CO, NM) will be sent via temperature controlled truck to the closest regional hub. These facilities, referred to as "gateways", are temperature controlled and located strategically throughout the country.
  • Once a shipment arrives at the gateway*, it will be transferred to UPS or Fedex for the final part of its journey

* Note that ice packs (if ordered) will be added to your package at this time.

All orders placed before 1pm EST on Wednesday will be shipped out on Friday of the same week. All orders placed after this time will be stored in a temperature controlled warehouse and shipped out the following Friday.

Delivery times, therefore, may take 8-14 days from order date, accounting for fulfillment, 4-5 days shipment to the regional hub, and 1-2 days for local delivery.

If you would like a more expeditious delivery option, please select 2-Day or Overnight Shipping.

Tracking information will not be available for your shipment until it reaches the regional hub, due to the fact that the shipment is sent via common (temperature controlled) carrier and there is no individual tracking number for the package.

You will however receive a confirmation email indicating that your shipment has left the West Coast warehouse and is en route to your closest regional hub. Your order will say "UPS Label Created", but this label will not be scanned until it reaches the regional hub.

Once the shipment reaches the regional hub, you will be able to track your package (likely 4-5 days after shipping date). At this point, the package is en route to your home/office.

  • Your wine can be protected from environmental damage for the entirety of its journey
