Femar Vini make one of our most popular wines, the lovely Nero Grande.

So when they told us that they'd made a couple of new wines including a 100% negroamaro rosé from sunny Puglia, we jumped at the chance to offer it to Vivino customers!

The first vintage and a Vivino UK exclusive, this lovely rosé has already picked up a superlative 97 points from the champion of wines people like to drink, Luca Maroni.

And we can see why! This is all about drinking pleasure...a wine that sings of fresh strawberry and raspberry, that delights with a wonderful softness on the palate and that finishes with a touch of spice and a lick of salt that betrays its seaside vineyards.

If you are looking for rosé that is a simple, pure pleasure to drink, look no further...

About the wine

An intense and bright light rosé color. A luscious bouquet of freshly picked raspberries, juicy strawberries with touches of roses and aromatic herbs. And then with some air, passion fruit, citrus and even a slight mintiness. Extremely soft on the palate, this slips down a treat with superbly ripe, slightly sweet fruit and an extremely refreshing acidity. There's nothing hugely complex here, but there doesn't need to be, this is all about drinking pleasure - and it delivers in spades!

This lovely rosé is 100% Negroamaro picked by hand. After soft pressing, a fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with a short maceration. Then it ripens further on its yeast in other stainless tanks to retain that all important freshness.

About the winery

Femar Vini was established in 1987 and operates from a very modern winery at Monte Porzio Catone which lies on the boundaries of Frascati, Monte Porzio Catone and Agro Romano. Femar Vini own approximately 40 hectares of vneyards in Lazio but also work with grapes and wines provided by their associated farms in other southern Italian regions and in particular Puglia.

The company has a philosophy based on the search for absolute quality, and it has acheived decidedly ambitious targets within a decade, secure in the knowledge that it is based in an area which repays the efforts of those who work with serious intent.

About the vineyard

The grapes for the Gran Appasso Rosé are grown in the slightly hilly hinterland near the coast in Puglia.

Weathered sand, loam, lime and loess soil form the basis of the vineyards. Tertiary pebble layers provide perfect drainage and ensure sufficient water even in the hot summer of southern Italy. The cool sea breeze, which carries fine winds through the vines and foliage 24 hours a day gives the wine a lovely freshness and a pleasantly salty touch.

Other Offers

Thank you for trusting Vivino for your wine orders! In order to ensure that your wine is protected from the elements during transport, Vivino has developed a comprehensive program for temperature controlled shipping:

  • All shipments to Non-West Coast states (CA, OR, WA, ID, MT, WY, NV, AZ, CO, NM) will be sent via temperature controlled truck to the closest regional hub. These facilities, referred to as "gateways", are temperature controlled and located strategically throughout the country.
  • Once a shipment arrives at the gateway*, it will be transferred to UPS or Fedex for the final part of its journey

* Note that ice packs (if ordered) will be added to your package at this time.

All orders placed before 1pm EST on Wednesday will be shipped out on Friday of the same week. All orders placed after this time will be stored in a temperature controlled warehouse and shipped out the following Friday.

Delivery times, therefore, may take 8-14 days from order date, accounting for fulfillment, 4-5 days shipment to the regional hub, and 1-2 days for local delivery.

If you would like a more expeditious delivery option, please select 2-Day or Overnight Shipping.

Tracking information will not be available for your shipment until it reaches the regional hub, due to the fact that the shipment is sent via common (temperature controlled) carrier and there is no individual tracking number for the package.

You will however receive a confirmation email indicating that your shipment has left the West Coast warehouse and is en route to your closest regional hub. Your order will say "UPS Label Created", but this label will not be scanned until it reaches the regional hub.

Once the shipment reaches the regional hub, you will be able to track your package (likely 4-5 days after shipping date). At this point, the package is en route to your home/office.

  • Your wine can be protected from environmental damage for the entirety of its journey
  • This service is provided to you at no additional cost
