This Prosecco from the region's finest and most highly acclaimed estate is incredibly elegant, fresh and lively - it's a Vivino Best-Seller and best of all, it's just £13.15!!

The most historic estate in ProseccoCarpenè Malvolti were the people who invented Prosecco (inspired by Champagne) and who have perfected it over almost 150 years.

Multi Award-Winning and, in our opinion, one of the best Proseccos available for the money!

About the wine

From the premium Prosecco district of Conegliano-Valdobbiadene DOCG (the highest quality designation) in Northern Italy comes this Superiore example of Italy's famous sparkling wine. Labelled 'Extra Dry', this actually means it has slightly higher residual sugar from the grapes than most sparkling wines, normally labelled 'Brut'.

The palate is full flavoured yet delicate with fine and continuous bubbles yielding a characteristic sensation of liveliness and elegance. The finish is fresh and appealing. Ideal as an aperitif and excellent with fish dishes and throughout the meal. Don’t miss out on this - it's the perfect aperitif ...

About the winery

Carpenè Malvolti, founded in 1868 by Antonio Carpene, was the first winery to produce a quality Prosecco.

A qualified chemist, in contact with Pasteur and Koch, he was convinced that a wine as good as Champagne could be produced in Italy. He applied his knowledge to the Prosecco grape (now known as Glera), the majestic variety of the Conegliano and Valdobbiadene zone. Over 150 years of history are testament to Carpene Malvolti's dedication to quality.

About the vineyard

The superior quality of the Prosecco grape, and that of Carpenè Malvolti Prosecco DOC, comes from hillside vineyards of typical red flaky soil, limestone marl and grey-green chalk. Grapes for the Prosecco di Conegliano are selected only from hillside vineyards in the DOC area.

Once harvested, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery where they are de-stalked and then gently pressed to extract only the free-run juice. The must obtained, ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of no more than 18- 20°C. It is then re-fermented at controlled temperatures, in pressurised tanks. Local yeasts are used for the "prise de mousse", giving a depth and richness that you won't find in any other prosecco..

About the winemaker

Etille Carpene Jr is very proud of his great, great grandfather's work and dedicated to keeping standards high.

Located about an hour's drive from Venice, these slopes are often very steep and so the care of the entire production process of the vineyard, including harvesting, are accomplished by hand. This guarantees the utmost quality of the raw material. Thirteen decades of tradition, effort and commitment have guaranteed the highest level of quality.

Other Offers

Thank you for trusting Vivino for your wine orders! In order to ensure that your wine is protected from the elements during transport, Vivino has developed a comprehensive program for temperature controlled shipping:

  • All shipments to Non-West Coast states (CA, OR, WA, ID, MT, WY, NV, AZ, CO, NM) will be sent via temperature controlled truck to the closest regional hub. These facilities, referred to as "gateways", are temperature controlled and located strategically throughout the country.
  • Once a shipment arrives at the gateway*, it will be transferred to UPS or Fedex for the final part of its journey

* Note that ice packs (if ordered) will be added to your package at this time.

All orders placed before 1pm EST on Wednesday will be shipped out on Friday of the same week. All orders placed after this time will be stored in a temperature controlled warehouse and shipped out the following Friday.

Delivery times, therefore, may take 8-14 days from order date, accounting for fulfillment, 4-5 days shipment to the regional hub, and 1-2 days for local delivery.

If you would like a more expeditious delivery option, please select 2-Day or Overnight Shipping.

Tracking information will not be available for your shipment until it reaches the regional hub, due to the fact that the shipment is sent via common (temperature controlled) carrier and there is no individual tracking number for the package.

You will however receive a confirmation email indicating that your shipment has left the West Coast warehouse and is en route to your closest regional hub. Your order will say "UPS Label Created", but this label will not be scanned until it reaches the regional hub.

Once the shipment reaches the regional hub, you will be able to track your package (likely 4-5 days after shipping date). At this point, the package is en route to your home/office.

  • Your wine can be protected from environmental damage for the entirety of its journey
  • This service is provided to you at no additional cost
