Owned by Hollywood A listers Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, the buzz around the first vintage of Miraval Rosé was so huge that it sold out in hours!

Since then the buzz has faded, but due to the quality of the wine in the bottle, Miraval's popularity has only increased. And that's no surprise, as this is a top-notch Provencal rosé made with the help of the Perrin family, wine legends in the Rhône.

This could be the perfect Provencal rosé - pale salmon in colour, beautifully fresh with notes of strawberry and orange peel and suprisingly layered and savoury on the palate - so we are very pleased to have found a small parcel at the excellent price of just £15.99 per bottle.

Happily, rosé has become a year-round drink and when you find one like this, that has great structure and lovely fruit expression you know that it’ll be as lovely to drink with food as it is on its own.

One top suggestion is to serve it as an aperitif this festive season. It’s certainly special enough and a good option for those folks who prefer to steer away from anything fizzy!

"...layered, graceful, and pure, it’s a very superior rosé" David Williams, The Guardian

About the wine

Miraval 2016 is a hugely attractive rosé. A beautiful, pale, petal-pink colour in the glass, the wine has appealing aromas of fresh fruit, red berries and spring flowers. The palate is silky and bright with a touch of spice and a distinctive savoury mineral quality that turns almost saline on the long finish. A wine that makes you want to pour the next glass straight away!

A blend of four grapes: cinsault, grenache, syrah and rolle all of which are harvested in the morning before sorting and de-stemming. The cinsault, grenache and rolle all undergo direct pressing. The syrah meanwhile is “saignée” which means that the grapes are lightly crushed and macerated before fermentation and the resulting ‘free run’ juice is used for the wine. Vinification is primarily in stainless steel, though a modest 5% goes in to casks.

About the winery

Tucked away in its own private valley in the ancient village of Corrensthe first organic village in France – Miraval covers 500 hectares of land in the heart of Provence. The magnificent Château is set in a cirque surrounded by ancient woods, olive trees, vineyards and abundant water supply.

In 1970, the well-known jazz pianist and composer Jacques Loussier took ownership of Miraval, turning it into a recording studio – Le Studio de Miraval. There, a number of famous musicians like Pink Floyd, Sting, Sade, The Cranberries and The Gipsy Kings came to record music.

Today, Miraval is a summer residence of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who have given impetus to the heart of the estate as a place dedicated to the arts – music, cinema, theatre, local food and fine wine.

About the vineyard

The 60-hectare estate, located in the heart of Provence has vineyards located on some of the finest terroir in the region.

At an altitude of 350 meters the vines are privileged to enjoy warm, sunny days and cool nights, bringing freshness and balance to the wines. The natural clay and chalk soils are important in retaining vital water supply while at the same time draining excess water, contributing to healthy grape maturation.

The vines are planted in protective terraces and Miraval’s magnificent cascading stone walled terraces have been perfectly restored to their traditional form.  The estate is cultivated without using herbicides, pesticides, or chemicals that can enter the vine and affect the evolution of the fruit.

92 points - Decanter

"There’s no doubt about the quality of this fresh, elegant and wild strawberry-scented dry rosé."

91 Points - Wine Enthusiast

This fruity rosé is produced at the property owned by Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie along with the Perrin family of Châteauneuf du Pape. It is lightly spicy and full of friendly, crisp red fruits."

90 Points - Josh Raynolds
“Limpid orange-pink. High-pitched aromas of fresh red berries and blood orange, along with hints of honeysuckle and peach. Silky and precise in the mouth, offering nicely concentrated strawberry, tangerine and floral pastille flavours that spread out steadily on the back half. Finishes minerally and long, showing suave floral-driven presence.”

"Great rosé by Jolie-Pitt Perrin. Orange peel citrus, floral. Bees wax, lavender. If served too cold, aromas are muted. Mineral undertones of seaside brine. Well balanced acidity. Very romantic wine. 4/5 Stars

"Floral with peach aromas. Light pink and clear colour. Round, yet acidic finish. Fresh and zingy with excellent lingering balance." 4.5/5 Stars

"I love this wine because of its good price for the beautifully soft color it possesses, along with a very intense aroma of peaches and a good persistence, uncommon for a rosé wine.4/5 Stars

Other Offers

Thank you for trusting Vivino for your wine orders! In order to ensure that your wine is protected from the elements during transport, Vivino has developed a comprehensive program for temperature controlled shipping:

  • All shipments to Non-West Coast states (CA, OR, WA, ID, MT, WY, NV, AZ, CO, NM) will be sent via temperature controlled truck to the closest regional hub. These facilities, referred to as "gateways", are temperature controlled and located strategically throughout the country.
  • Once a shipment arrives at the gateway*, it will be transferred to UPS or Fedex for the final part of its journey

* Note that ice packs (if ordered) will be added to your package at this time.

All orders placed before 1pm EST on Wednesday will be shipped out on Friday of the same week. All orders placed after this time will be stored in a temperature controlled warehouse and shipped out the following Friday.

Delivery times, therefore, may take 8-14 days from order date, accounting for fulfillment, 4-5 days shipment to the regional hub, and 1-2 days for local delivery.

If you would like a more expeditious delivery option, please select 2-Day or Overnight Shipping.

Tracking information will not be available for your shipment until it reaches the regional hub, due to the fact that the shipment is sent via common (temperature controlled) carrier and there is no individual tracking number for the package.

You will however receive a confirmation email indicating that your shipment has left the West Coast warehouse and is en route to your closest regional hub. Your order will say "UPS Label Created", but this label will not be scanned until it reaches the regional hub.

Once the shipment reaches the regional hub, you will be able to track your package (likely 4-5 days after shipping date). At this point, the package is en route to your home/office.
